who wants to play ...

... for Aston Villa.

I remember a few seasons a go - we were the draw masters, but this run has seen us drop several places down the league - to be next to Newcastle - relegation players just a few weeks ago - so what has happened?

I think that it's the realisation from the players on the pitch that their job is safe for another few months, as the board are struggling to attract quality players - we need to scare them into action again -- any ideas anyone?

Oh, and no - I don't want to shout "boo" over the tanoy system!

Honestly, I'd disagree that the players are thinking their job is safe, especially as the transfer window opens in a few days time.
I think Mr Lerner is keeping his cards close to his chest about how much money he is providing, just as he did when bought out deadly doug. We have no idea who the board are attracting, some names have been mentioned such as Jermaine Defoe, Robbie Keane, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Curtis Davies and others but nothing has been said about how, or even whether they have progressed.

I believe that we are playing well, but because the same players are playing week in, week out, they are now beginning to feel the toll. Also remember, the teams we have played recently haven't exactly been easy games. Pompey, Man U and Tottenham are good sides, and Bolton are never an easy team to play.

Overall, this was a consolidation season. After near relegation last year, anything would have been better. Don't write our current squad off, they are fighting hard.
