August Transfer deadline

Heard the rumour?? Along with Petrov for £6m, Villa will be making a deadline bid for Defoe for £9m. Go for it Mr O'Neill.

Just come back off holiday and what happens. Martin O'Neill is our new manager and Randy Lerner has just agreed a £62.5m takeover for Villa. I must be dreaming.

Exciting times for the villa, we now have a big name manager, and with the £20m war chest that Lerner will provide, hopefully we will be able to add more substance to our thin squad. Its going to be a struggle to start off with, but in a few years we should be alot closer to the big boys.
